Trello Integration

Connect your Trello boards to create beautiful, embeddable widgets. Display cards with labels, due dates, members, custom fields, and more.

Connecting Trello

Click Connect Trello

From the connection modal, click Connect Trello. If you’ve connected before, you can select a previous connection from the dropdown.

Enter your API Key and Token

You’ll need two credentials from Trello:

  1. API Key — Get it from trello.com/power-ups/admin  (click “Generate a new API Key” if needed)
  2. Token — After getting your API key, click the “Token” link on the same page to authorize and generate a token

Your API key and token are stored securely and are only used to read data from your Trello account. Tokens don’t expire unless you manually revoke them.

Select your board

Choose the Trello board you want to display. All boards you have access to will be listed.

Filter by list (optional)

You can optionally select a specific list to only show cards from that list. If you skip this step, all cards from the board will be included.

Done!

Your Trello data is now connected and ready to display in your widget.

What data is displayed?

Each Trello card becomes a row in your widget. The following fields are available:

  • Card Name — the card title
  • Description — card description text
  • List — which list the card belongs to
  • Labels — all labels assigned to the card
  • Due Date — the card’s due date
  • Start Date — the card’s start date
  • Members — assigned members
  • Attachments — file attachments and links
  • Cover — cover image (if set)
  • Card URL — link back to the card on Trello
  • Custom Fields — any custom fields defined on the board (text, number, checkbox, date, dropdown)

How Data Refreshes

Your published widget uses smart caching to balance performance with data freshness. You can choose between On widget load (default) or Real-time refresh modes.

For full details on how caching works and how to configure refresh modes, see Data Refresh.

Troubleshooting

”Invalid API key or token”

Double-check that you’ve entered both your API key and token correctly. Make sure there are no extra spaces. You can regenerate your token from trello.com/power-ups/admin .

Board not appearing

You can only see boards that your Trello account has access to. Make sure the board isn’t private to another workspace, or ask the board owner to add you as a member.

Custom fields not showing

Custom Fields are a Trello Power-Up feature. Make sure the Custom Fields Power-Up is enabled on your board for custom field data to appear.
