Google Sheets Integration

Connect your Google Sheets data to create beautiful, embeddable widgets.

Connecting Google Sheets

Click Connect Google Sheets

From the connection modal, click Connect Google Sheets. If you’ve connected before, you can select a previous account from the dropdown or add a new one.

Authorize with Google

You’ll be redirected to Google’s authorization page. Sign in with your Google account and grant Shareables access to your spreadsheets.

Select a spreadsheet

The Google Picker will open, allowing you to browse and select a spreadsheet from your Google Drive. You can search by name to find your file quickly.

Done!

Once selected, your spreadsheet is connected and you can start building your widget.

Shareables requests access to the spreadsheets you select. Your data remains secure and we only access files you explicitly connect.

Managing Multiple Accounts

You can connect multiple Google accounts to Shareables:

  • Switch accounts - Use the dropdown to select a different connected account
  • Add new account - Click “Connect new account” to add another Google account
  • Reconnect - If your connection expires, you’ll see a “Reconnect” button

How Data Refreshes

Your published widget uses smart caching to balance performance with data freshness. You can choose between On widget load (default) or Real-time refresh modes.

For full details on how caching works and how to configure refresh modes, see Data Refresh.

Adding Images to Google Sheets

Need to add images to your Google Sheet for use as cover images or image fields in your widget? Watch this quick guide:

For images to work in Shareables, your Google Sheets column should contain direct image URLs (e.g. https://example.com/image.jpg). For multiple images per item, separate URLs with commas.

If you’re looking to get more out of Google Sheets before connecting to Shareables, here are a few tools worth knowing:

  • Apipheny  — Import data from any REST API directly into Google Sheets without writing code. Great for keeping your Sheet automatically updated from external sources like Shopify, your CRM, or any API.

Troubleshooting

Spreadsheet not appearing

Make sure you have access to the spreadsheet in Google Drive. Shareables can only see spreadsheets you own or have been shared with you.

Authorization failed

Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, then attempt the connection again. If issues persist, get in touch.
