Video Walkthrough

Connecting Airtable

Click Connect Airtable

From the connection modal, click Connect Airtable. If you’ve connected before, you can select a previous account from the dropdown.

Authorize with Airtable

You’ll be redirected to Airtable’s authorization page. Sign in and grant Shareables access to your workspace.

Choose your setup method

You have two options:

  • Start Fresh - Create a new table with sample data in one of your bases. Perfect for trying out templates.
  • Use existing data - Connect to a table you’ve already set up in Airtable.

Select your data

If using existing data:

  1. Select an Airtable Base
  2. Select a Table
  3. Select a View

Done!

Your Airtable data is now connected and ready to display in your widget.

Views in Airtable control which records and fields are visible. Choose a view that shows exactly the data you want in your widget.

Sort order from your Airtable view is not guaranteed by the Airtable API. Your view’s filters and field visibility will be respected, but items may not appear in the same order as your view. To ensure a specific item order, use Sort Items in the Source tab. See Sorting — Sort Items for details.

Start Fresh vs Use Existing Data

Start Fresh

Best for:

  • Trying out a template quickly
  • Learning how Shareables works
  • Creating a demo widget

When you choose “Start Fresh”, we’ll:

  • Create a new table in your selected base
  • Add the fields needed for the template
  • Populate it with sample records you can customise

Use Existing Data

Best for:

  • Displaying your real data
  • Connecting to an established workflow
  • Production widgets

Managing Multiple Accounts

You can connect multiple Airtable accounts:

  • Switch accounts - Use the dropdown to select a different connected account
  • Add new account - Click “Connect new account” to add another Airtable account
  • Reconnect - If your connection expires, click the “Reconnect” button

How Data Refreshes

Your published widget uses smart caching to balance performance with data freshness. You can choose between On widget load (default) or Real-time refresh modes.

For full details on how caching works and how to configure refresh modes, see Data Refresh.

Troubleshooting

No bases found

Make sure you have at least one base in your Airtable account. Create a base in Airtable first, then try connecting again.

Table or view not appearing

Check that your Airtable account has access to the base. If you’re part of a workspace, ensure you have the correct permissions.

Connection expired

Airtable tokens expire periodically. If you see a “Reconnect” button, click it to re-authorize your account.

Failed to fetch data

Check your internet connection and try again. If the issue persists, get in touch.
